Pokhara an amazing valley one of the popular touristic places in all Himalaya and probably in the whole world where the massive Annapurna Himalaya reflects on its serene Phewa and Begnas Lakes.
From Pokhara a short drive to the starting point of trekking and then heading towards high hills and villages to reach a large Ghandruk village, home of Gurung tribes famous as Gorkha soldiers world over serving in British, India and Singapore Gorkha army battalion.
Ghandruk the gateway towards many trekking around Annapurna region, our route continues heading to Annapurna base camp and the sanctuary, walk leads through the deep gorge of raging Modi River fed from the glaciers of several Annapurna ranges of peaks. Walk leads through thick pines-rhododendron and bamboo forested area, as trek progress leaving the tree lines behind after passing another large Chomrong village and then on route to base camp past Bamboo and Deurali a temporary settlements.
Finally our adventure enters the picturesque and awesome spot at Annapurna base camp at 4,095 meters high within the scenic sanctuary encircled with amphitheater of snow clad peaks with tremendous views of High Mountains and glaciers. At Annapurna base camp with mind blowing experience in the comfort of nice and cozy lodges in the shade of world 10th highest Mt. Annapurna and adjoining series of peaks.
After a great moment and enjoyable time at Annapurna base camp and the sanctuary, heading back to Pokhara via an alternative route downhill through serene alpine woodland lined with rhododendron, pines and oak trees. On route visiting interesting villages, finally this wonderful Annapurna Base Camp trek concludes in picturesque Pokhara by the lake Phewa for overnight stop.
Next morning overland drive or by air back to Kathmandu with great memories of Annapurna Base Camp and grand service of Destination Holidays and its friendly guide and porters.
On landing at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our staff will receive you with a warm welcome and transfer you to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city. After refresh join the other group member for trip orientation and briefing by our guide / leader regarding trek.
Early morning we take flight to Pokhara. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, the beautiful lake city, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and and Annapurna mountain range including the majestic Mt. Machhapuchhre “ The Fish Tail”.. After taking a few time rest, we drive to Nayapul and start the trek. We pass through sub-tropical valley forests, sometimes on the carved trail on the side of the cliff. After lunch at Saulibazar we head toward Ghandruk in our way we can see beautiful village called Kimche. We reach Ghandruk by late afternoon. Overnight, We stay in Ghandruk.
Another beautiful view from Ghandruk, morning walk leads to a climb on top of Ghandruk village and on gradual trail for few hours and then a climb to Kimrong ridge with 3-4 lodges and tea-shops and then descend to Kimrong valley in the cool shade of a forest.
After reaching Kimrong River valley an uphill climb for another hour and all the way to the top of Chomrong village.
From this top spot, a short downhill leads to overnight stop at Chomrong village.
This is the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trek.
After Chomrong walk leads to a short downhill over the terraced farm fields and to Chomrong River. After crossing bridge an uphill for an hour to Sinuwa danda a small spot with few lodges with great views of surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills.
From here walk through cool dense forest to Bamboo a small settlement, located by the Modi River in the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual up to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest and river gorge.
From here onwards the air gets cooler and fresher entering towards Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp. Walk leads on a pleasant winding path with few ups to Himalaya Hotel near at Hinko Cave, located beneath Hiunchuli peak.
From here walking on glacier and moraine formed by old avalanches, crossing a small bridge near Deurali the last place. From here on vegetation and tree lines disappears with only high alpine bushes and shrubs. Our route climbs following the raging Modi River upstream to reach at Deurali for overnight stop.
Morning walk with views of Annapurna mountain range heading high on grassy uphill slopes, reaching higher elevation at Annapurna Base Camp with close up views of magnificent Annapurna peaks with Annapurna I a massive mountain.
After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp for lunch with free afternoon at leisure to marvel the mountain views.
Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. ‘Jimmy’ Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the ‘Sanctuary of Gods’. The Sanctuary has been christened as “Annapurna Sanctuary” ever since.
After a great time at Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, morning walk heading downhill all the way to Deurali. From here with few ups and downs and some gradual section back into tree lines into serene forested area to reach at Bamboo place for overnight stop.
From here a short steep climb to Khuldi Ghar, and on the winding downhill path through dense forest to Sinuwa danda. From here walk descends to Chomrong khola. After the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour to reach Chomrong village for rest or for lunch. After Chomrong with half hour climb to the top of Chomrong ridge. From here route descend to Jhinu danda for overnight stop. This village on a ridge offers refreshing bathe in hot springs which is just 20 minutes walk downhill by Modi River and Jhinu Dada is the Best place for birding
Morning with superb views leads to a short up through cool forest with large meadows overlooking magnificent views of the Himalayan range of mountains, from Jhinu Danda, we get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. We have lunch on the way. Our trek will end at Naya Pul where we board our vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
Fly back to Kathmandu our staff will transfer you to Pokhara domestic airport for 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu meet our representative and then transfer back to respective hotels).
Today, last day in Nepal with great memories and amazing experience trekking to Annapurna Base Camp Destination Holidays representative transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your final departure homeward bound or to next port of call.
